I made the decision to go "Natural" on the second part of my healing journey. The first part was conventional: lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and ovarian removal. This next part of my journey I'm in control of. It may not be for everyone and I'm sure there are many nay-sayers out there, but as it's said - You do You boo :)
October 9, 2023 - Update
October 11, 2023 will be my 1-year post treatment. I don't say "cancer-free" as it gives me a false sense of what life would be if cancer didn't exist. I am a cancer Warrior. Every day I am living a life of preventing recurrence and metastasis. I am working on a life of optimal health, both mentally and physically. It's not always easy but it is well worth the effort!
I am currently working with a Naturopathic Oncologist which has been wonderful. We have been working on cleansing, healing my gut health, fine-tuning my exercise program and routine. My brain fog has cleared, I'm sleeping better and I'm at my ideal body-weight (still working on building muscle). I do still have some fatigue but that too is getting better.
I do still see all of conventional doctors for follow up appoints and blood work every 3-months for the next several years. I had a CT scan completed a few weeks ago and it c
ame back clear with the exception of some scarring on my upper lung from radiation. My blood work came back with some suspicious findings though. I'm struggling on producing white blood cells so I go back at the end of this month to have them rechecked. Not sure what next steps will be if they are still low. I'll keep you posted. On the brighter-side, my cancer markers came back good. If you or anyone you know have had radiation on their breast I would highly recommend seeing a Physical Therapist that specializes in breast therapy. Mine works miracles!
I am working on developing my WhatTheLiteral website that will provide the details of each part of my journey, what to expect, what I used that helped and what I have learned from all my research and learning. I will provide links (wherever possible) to some of the research
I have found which I found very interesting. I want to preface upfront what I am not. I am not a Doctor. I am not a Naturopathic Doctor. I am not a licensed Health Coach. I am not giving medical recommendations. I am just a woman looking for natural, non-toxic alternatives for my healing journey.
